DR VODDER SCHOOL

Developed in France in the 1930s by Emil Vodder and his wife Estrid, the original Dr Vodder method of Manual Lymphatic Drainage has grown to become the most well-known technique around the world to assist lymph flow and aid drainage caused by a variety of health conditions.

history of the dr vodder technique

Dr Vodder developed his method of Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) after noticing that patients with chronic catarrh and sinus infections tended to have swollen lymph nodes.

Using gentle, rhythmic massage to manipulate the skin, MLD stimulates the lymphatic system to promote the flow of fluid and toxins. When performed with precision and care it can accelerate recovery and facilitate the drainage of built-up fluids. But the benefits extend far beyond that – this holistic approach can have a profound impact on the entire body, supporting its innate ability to heal, revitalise and thrive.

Since Dr Vodder’s pioneering work began, MLD has been adopted throughout many European hospitals and clinics. Gayle became a Dr Vodder-trained specialist in 2002 and set up practice working from her clinic in Guildford, Surrey. Since then, she has helped over 30,000 patients to improve their health and quality of life with the power of the original Manual Lymphatic Drainage technique.
